Luxury Vinyl Installation

What to expect
during your luxury vinyl installation

After you select your favorite versatile luxury vinyl style, it’s time to get ready for installation! Luxury vinyl installation is much quicker than installing actual wood or stone. Make sure to clear out the rooms completely of furniture, electronics, wall hangings, and all items in the closets. This may require you to rearrange other rooms in the home to accommodate your furnishings. Also, now is the best time to complete any painting on the walls or touch-ups in the room beforehand as well.

The vast majority of today's luxury vinyl products offer floating installation, which means your old floors may not need to be removed entirely and disposed of! If your luxury vinyl is a glue-down variety, the subfloor will need to be assessed, and imperfections may need to be repaired to ensure an appropriate surface for installation. Luckily, many innovative luxury vinyl options can fix subfloor issues!

Plan to be home during your luxury vinyl installation in order to answer any questions that may arise for the installation crew. This is your chance to ask questions as well! Designate an area for the workers to keep potentially dangerous tools and saw luxury vinyl pieces as needed. Keep all pets and children away from the rooms receiving new luxury vinyl and the worker’s specified area.

Once your new luxury vinyl floors are completely installed, your installers will specify the amount of time you need to wait before the rooms can receive foot traffic, and when you can return furnishings. If your luxury vinyl is installed as a floating floor, it is most likely ready for foot traffic immediately! As you bring furniture back into the room, always lift up or use rolling equipment, never drag furniture, and use felt pads underneath heavy legs to reduce impact.
